1) Generalized seizures:
Six basic types:
Generalized tonic clonic (Grand mal)
Absence - brief loss of consciousness; few symptoms;
blank stare; not aware of seizure.
Myoclonic - sporadic jerks, usually on both sides.
Clonic - repetitive, rhythmic jerks, usually on both sides
of the body at the same time.
Tonic - stiffening or rigidity of the muscles.
Atonic - sudden general loss of muscle tone.
