What is a seizure?

A physical condition that occurs when there is a sudden,
brief change in how the brain works.

It may cause a person's consciousness, movement or
actions to be temporarily altered.

Causes include fever that spikes rapidely in children (febrile convulsions),
an imbalance of body fluids or chemicals,

or by alcohol or drugs.
A pattern of recurrent seizures with a neurological cause
is called a "seizure disorder" or Epilepsy.
